| Description: The Community/Economic Development Manager for the NC A&T Real Estate Foundation (REF) reports directly to the Executive Director and will serve as lead staff for acquisition and development projects. This position will focus on providing strategic vision for the Foundation's economic and community development efforts in East Greensboro, the community surrounding the university, leading to major acquisitions of real estate. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: Our mission is to transform the landscape of North Carolina A&T State University, expanding its reach and impact through strategic land acquisition and real estate development. We are dedicated to providing exceptional off-campus living experiences for students, fostering community growth, and driving economic development in East Greensboro. Together, we strive to elevate the university's footprint, create opportunities that inspire and empower our team, residents, and the broader community and to catalyze positive change, that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. Our vision is to develop a world-class community for a world-class university using real estate development as a tool for community and economic development that fosters healthy growth of the NC A&T State University community. In 2014-2015, in response to the Preeminence 2020 Plan and the call for A&T as the anchor institution to lead the economic transformation of East Greensboro after decades of negligent and disinvestment, the University Foundation was repositioned as the NC A&T Real Estate Foundation. The NCATAREF owns and operates off-campus apartment communities and has broken ground on the first phase of The Resurgent. The Resurgent is a mixed-use development aimed at brining services, amenities and jobs to east Greensboro..
