Department Summary UCLA Recreation is a large department within the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs with approximately 90 full-time career and contract and over 1,000 part-time employees. UCLA Recreation provides extensive access to a broad range of recreational activities and wellbeing services and offers programming which encompasses the competitive, passive, social, cultural, and instructional aspects of recreational activity. In addition, the department manages 15 of the University's recreational and athletic facilities offering recreation, competition, and numerous multi-use options for student and university events. Position Summary The Competitive Sports Coordinator reports to the Competitive Sports Program Director. The Competitive Sports office operates over 50 club sports, a variety of intramural sports (23 total) for students, faculty, staff and other affiliated individuals, unified sports in coordination with the UCLA Special Olympics student group, instructional sports and extramural sports programs. The Competitive Sports Coordinator assists in the coordination and supervision of program delivery for the Competitive Sports office, and assists with scheduling, payroll, student staff training, curriculum development, program evaluation and marketing for participant programs. This position will assist in the learning and development of over 250 student officers by creating or collaborating with campus contacts to develop a series of seminars that will provide leadership, management, financial, and communication skills. The coordinator will also have duties related to the UCLA Club Sports program in relation to apparel, trademarks and licensing travel, event management, facility reservations, event planning, website management, assessment of program offerings and management of social accounts. Other duties include: share oversight of the administration of all club sports; overall development, training, assignment, supervision and evaluation of part-time student employees; schedule and supervise contests and events, preparation of reports, analyses, evaluation and enhancement of existing programs and recommendation of changes, budget management; identification and correction of risk management concerns; and the addressing of customer concerns in timely and professional manner. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
