The Sport Management (SM) program at the University of Michigan's School of Kinesiology invites applications for a Lecturer I position, appointed by semester, commencing January 1, 2025. This position is for one, 1.5-credit lecture section, equating to a 12.5% appointment. The course format is in-person and meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching SM 238 - Introduction to Accounting. A management career in business, whether related to sports or any other commercial activity, requires an understanding of finance and accounting. This course provides an introductory overview of the fundamental knowledge and computational skills required to understand and participate in financial management decisions. By the end of this course the student should be able to understand and apply the major concepts and tools used in accounting financial management, including:
