Job OverviewThe Department of Otolaryngology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) intern to pair with a post-graduate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with our surgical team gaining clinical hours and educational experience in the operating room, inpatient and ambulatory settings. The duration of this internship will be for nine (9) months, and may be eligible to transfer to a regular or long-term position if one is available at the sole discretion of UC Physicians and the Department of Otolaryngology. The position entails the APP having an interest in furthering the tripartite mission of the regions only academic center (outstanding clinical care, teaching, and research).
The APP intern will learn how to evaluate and treat adult patients in a tertiary Otolaryngology practice inclusive of multiple subspecialties, including head and neck oncology with complex reconstruction, skull base surgery, facial plastic surgery, laryngology, and airway disorders.
The APP intern will have access to journal clubs, multidisciplinary meetings, temporal bone lab, and other facilities of the academic health system. A willingness and interest to work in a teaching environment is a must. to function as an independent practitioner with the support of our physicians. They will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients. The individual will provide patient/family education and will be expected to participate in teaching. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday position for the duration of the internship. Essential Functions
