Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Trained to incorporate their unique personal experience in their own recovery with a knowledge base in human services and addiction, the Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) will engage with individuals identified with Opioid Use Disorders or other Substance Use Disorders in both the hospital?s inpatient and outpatient departments. The PRS will be trained to utilize Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) with the goal of decreasing mortality rates and increasing linkage to treatment for those living with addiction. This position is part of a two year grant funded by SAMHSA and administered through the State of Illinois.
