Identify, mobilize, and ensure that the schoolâ™s faculty, students, fellows, and staff receive high-quality administrative support in compliance with University policies and procedures, which includes risk mitigation. This role reports to the Dean, with aspects of joint accountability to the Chief Financial Officer of the university on matters related to financial and budgetary responsibility as well as risk management.
Responsibilities for this role include: - School-wide strategic initiatives that advance the mission of the individual school and the university. - General and Administrative operations (i.e. facilities, IT, human resources, and continuous process improvement) - Financial and budgetary management - Compliance and Risk Management - Research Administration - University Citizen
Strategic Initiatives/General and Administrative Operations â“ Accountability to the Dean: Achievement of the schoolâ™s mission and goals by working in close partnership with the schoolâ™s leadership, faculty, staff, students and service providers to develop and implement the schoolâ™s strategy. Understands and monitors external and internal factors influencing the schoolâ™s mission and goals. Plans for financial and non-financial resources required for the school to achieve its goals. Full scope of role includes business operations and management including but not limited to human resources, capital projects, facilities, information technology, quality assurance, public affairs and administrative services, liaising/partnering with appropriate functional units for subject matter expertise. Represent the Dean in a decision-making capacity to the University's central administrative offices. Collaborate with the Dean, in supporting the school and program leaders in conceptualizing, prioritizing, and planning new programs or changes. Supports, and when necessary drives, the schoolâ™s process for strategic planning with key faculty and staff in appropriately supporting academic priorities.
Finance & Budget Management/Research Administration/Compliance â“ Joint Accountability to the Chief Financial Officer: (the chief financial officer is responsible for providing an annual assessment of the incumbentâ™s performance relative to this area). Provides comprehensive financial information, analysis, and advice to optimize the use of the organizationâ™s financial resources. Creates and updates long-range financial plans, that reflect all critical issues. Identifies available financial resources (current and future), and advises and deploys efficiently to best support schoolâ™s objectives. Prepares all-funds budgets, analyzes financial activities and performance against budget, makes adjustments, and takes action when needed. Serve as the liaison to central university offices in the areas of budget, treasury, accounting & reporting, payroll, risk management, procurement, internal audit, and other offices as needed. Implements and maintains strong internal controls to provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resource use, accurate financial information, and adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements. Identifies, communicates, addresses, and escalates risks in a timely and appropriate manner to protect the assets, resources, information, and reputation of the school and the University. Ensures all faculty and staff understand the regulations and NYUâ™s requirements as they pertain to their scope of activity. Establishes, monitors, and meets or exceeds targets for operational excellence. Identifies and implements opportunities to achieve continuous improvement of processes. Responsible for building and managing a team of high-performance administrative and financial professionals.
University Citizen: Connects the organization and the University through communication, alignment of priorities, implementation of initiatives, and active engagement in organization or University administrative priorities. Effectively represents organization needs, challenges, and opportunities at the University level. Proactively shares knowledge and best practices with others. Responsibilities Required Education: Qualifications In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $250,000.00 to USD $300,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. Salary: 250000.00 PI249737599
