Staff Assistant

Position Summary:

• Responsible for providing administrative, analytical, computing and staff support for the Pediatric Chair and Divisions of the department of Pediatrics.
• Responsible for maintaining the Chair's calendar, including meetings, conferences and travel arrangements as well as compiling and submission of reimbursement expenses.
• Schedules meetings and manages calendar for the Senior Director of Administration.
• Accountable for certain aspects of department's Annual report (including coordinating divisional photography, final production acceptance to publisher and distribution).
• Executes assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages.
• Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all activity files.
• Prepares agendas for various meetings, processes correspondence, reports and recommendations of a confidential nature, proofreads and edits correspondence as needed. Maintains mailing lists.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or a related field, plus two (2) years of professional level experience, including demonstrated experience with independent thinking and follow-through in a business office, government agency, or university setting.
• Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
