Requirements Health Justice Fellow, Law Center - Georgetown University. The Health Justice Fellow performs research, collaborates in writing for academic/professional/policy audiences, and helps to organize both public and private meetings among leaders in the fields of health policy, racial equity, and civil rights. The Fellow contributes to and supports an 18 month collaboration between Georgetown Law and the Urban Institute, aimed at crafting innovative legal strategies for ameliorating racial disparities in medical care and pursuing health equity more broadly. The Fellow's work includes legal and policy research; academic and policy-oriented writing, and building connections among health leaders, the civil-rights community, and public officials. Duties include but are not limited to:
Work Interactions The Fellow's efforts support and enrich the above-mentioned Georgetown Law/Urban Institute collaboration, in pursuit of racial equity in the realms of medical care and health. The Fellow reports to the collaboration's director at Georgetown Law (Gregg Bloche) and coordinates with the collaboration's director at the Urban Institute (Brian Smedley, Senior Fellow at Urban). The Fellow will also receive support and some supervisory guidance from Yael Cannon (Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Health Justice Alliance Law Clinic). One or more research assistants report to the Fellow. In keeping with Georgetown University's teaching, research, and public service missions, the Fellow will have opportunities to give presentations to students, write for publication, and speak to broader public-policy-oriented audiences.
