Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryWashington University in St. Louis seeks an experienced attorney for the position of Assistant General Counsel, Clinical Affairs (AsstGC). The Universityâ™s School of Medicine provides world class health care in 78 specialties at 130 clincial locations. The School of Medicine and BJC Health System (âœBJCâ) are separate entities that work in close collaboration as an integrated academic health system in the eastern region of Missouri. The AsstGCâ™s primary responsibility is to provide legal support, advice, and counsel to the Schoolâ™s clinical leadership and health care providers. The AsstGC will also support the Associate General Counsel with primary responsibility for the defense of medical malpractice claims and advising School leaders charged with running the Schoolâ™s clinical operations. The AsstGC works collaboratively with other members of the Office of Vice Chancellor and General Counsel as necessary to ensure the delivery of prompt and informed legal services.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities: This role reports to the Vice Chancellor and General Counsel and works with the schoolâ™s leadership of the clinical enterprise on a variety of matters:
