A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position in multi-omic data analysis with focus on identifying genomic signatures that are associated with Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) and its precursor Barrett's esophagus (BE) is available at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Fred Hutch provides a challenging academic and supportive multi-disciplinary research environment.
We are seeking a recent or prospective doctoral graduate (Ph.D. or equivalent qualification) with a background in large data analysis, for example, in epidemiology, computer science, statistical genetics, population genetics, biostatistics, or related subject areas. This could include, but is not limited to, training in quantitative genetics, bioinformatics with training in quantitative science, statistical genetics, or a closely related field (please note that this is NOT a laboratory-based position). The postdoctoral fellow will work directly with Dr. Charles Kooperberg on analyzing large multi-omic data sets to develop genetic, methylation and RNA-seq signatures that are associated with the development of EAC and the progression of BE to EAC. In particular, the postdoc will conduct the most comprehensive multi-omics study of BE, the key cancer precursor, analyzing transcriptome and methylome data, newly generated by our collaborators, on BE patients and perform integrative analyses leveraging genotypes and environmental risk factors already available through GWAS for BE/EAC. The goal is to identify new genetic risk loci through eQTL mapping and transcriptome-wide association study, and new epigenetic loci mediating and predicting the risk of BE progression to EAC. Ultimately, genetics, epigenetics, and environmental exposures will be incorporated to identify high-risk populations for tailored screening and surveillance and prevent cancer development. ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will work in a multidisciplinary research team supported by an advanced data management and computational infrastructure to perform data analyses, develop and/or implement novel statistical methodology, and publish research results. The incumbent will have ample opportunity to publish first author papers and present at national meetings. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The annual base salary range for this position is from $67,728 to $140,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
