2nd Shift Fleet Technician

The crew at East Central Energy is looking for a skilled 2nd Shift Fleet Technician to help keep our vehicles and equipment running smoothly. A day in the life • Safely perform repair work on vehicles after breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside incidents. • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment to manufacturer specifications. • Conduct pre-repair operation tests and final quality check on all equipment. • Follow documentation procedures for mileage, timesheets, and work orders. • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and longevity. • Ensure vehicles meet DOT inspection standards. • Perform welding repairs and fabricate parts as needed. Requirements A high school diploma or GED plus automotive technical training or two years of related experience, or a mix of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. A valid class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for interstate commerce, a DOT medical examiner’s certificate, and DOT certification for commercial motor vehicle inspections are all required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Use basic computer programs, e-mail, Windows applications, and internet browsers. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and through written correspondence, with a high level of integrity and respect in a manner that enhances ECE’s reputation, while considering the timeline of others. • Examine aspects of an operation, draw conclusions, and solve challenges. • Understand transmission and driveline operation/repair; brakes and suspension operation/repair; hydraulics and fluid drive components. • Understand various equipment such as buckets, digger/derricks, trucks, cars, trailers, backhoes, trenchers, and vibratory plows. • Diagnose and repair equipment, use code readers, and understand software for engine diagnosis. • Apply fabrication skills to weld and cut steel/metals.
