Associate Director of Development

Job Description The Associate Director of Development increases philanthropic support to St Cloud State University by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors. Employs a relationship-oriented approach to secure new, renewed, and upgraded gifts of $1,000-$50,000 from a portfolio of individuals, corporate and trusts & foundations. Works to promote the President?s Club and increase the number of donors within this leadership giving group. Educates donors on the importance of unrestricted giving and works collaboratively with team members to facilitate positive alumni relations and donor management. Communications and RelationshipsAbility to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Through this process determining the proper communication for each given audience to ensure the best possible result and outlook on the University. Understand relationship management and implement throughout working style and work product. The art of persuasion will be key for this role to succeed by working with not only donors, but also other areas on within the University. Transparent and regular communication with supervisor and team members. Work through donor situations which can vary in complexity, and make recommendations to practices and processes to obtain the best outcome keeping the best interest of the donors and University in mind at the same time. Planning and AssessmentAbility to understand and implement strategic plans. Effective portfolio management and individual prospect strategy and management. Ability to develop and coordinate efforts and work plans to align with Department strategies and working styles. Design departmental assessments on overall effectiveness of fundraising campaigns. Ability to analyze the data gathered and make recommendations for improvement to align with initiatives. Work to metrics and regular evaluation of short term and long term goals both individually and departmentally. Decision Making and AccountabilityAbility to work strategically and collaboratively while also being nimble and flexible. Can be an independent worker to meet identified deliverables. Ability to see a potential issue, and react with a decision on how to resolve the issue on behalf of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement Team. Responsible for individual financial and performance metrics while also working toward team goals. Mature and thorough in thought process and delivery. Work to develop new policies and procedures in order to streamline certain fundraising efforts. Minimum Qualifications

Other Requirements Some evening and weekend work required. Physical EffortPosition requires some overnight travel that may last for periods of several days. May require to assist with event delivery which may include moving of materials, lifting of boxes and items.
