The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) will be used to pre-screen applicants for the HPS II position. The SOQ is a narrative discussion of the candidate's experience that qualifies him/her for this position. The SOQ must be no more than two pages in length, using 12-point Arial font.

Experience in:
- Conducting and/or directing and/or analyzing complex public health programs in communities experiencing the greatest health disparities and the ability to solve complex issues/challenges by recommending and implementing effective courses of action.
- Analyzing and providing highly skilled public health expertise on work plans, materials, program guidance, policies, procedures, bill analyses and/or policies.
- Providing leadership on diverse workgroups and projects, fostering positive collaboration and partnerships, and completing the work within the requested deadline and/or approved budget.
- Professionally representing employers/programs at meetings, conferences, webinars, and trainings with high-level stakeholders.
- Assessing, recommending and/or developing policies, systems and environmental change strategies and actions that can positively impact the public’s health.
- Preparing a wide variety of policy, technical and programmatic communications.
- Managing multiple assignments at a time.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience and/or education in public health, nutrition, physical activity, and/or obesity prevention.
- Experience providing training and technical assistance to agencies/organizations implementing public health programs with an emphasis on obesity prevention, healthy eating, physical activity and policy, systems, and environmental changes.
