This position is responsible for direction of patient care in the Ambulatory and Surgery Units, to include planning, directing, coordination and evaluation of the overall clinical practice and administrative activities of support units. Plans, directs and monitors the case and utilization management program(s). Provides advice, counsel, feedback and coordination to promote collegiality between staff, physicians and the leadership team. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and divisional goals and objectives. ? Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the following service units: Ambulatory, Surgery. ? Implement, maintain, and ensure quality service, personnel management, and the allocation and management of resources to ensure the provision of consistent, high-quality patient care. ? Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations including, but not limited to, staff scheduling, collection of QAPI data; helps organize and lead departmental meetings and complaint management. ? Responsible for planning and monitoring staffing activities for the division, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. ? Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. ? Provides for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same. ? Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member; conducts evaluations for new staff prior to completion of probationary period. ? Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. ? Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. ? Provides input and standards in formulating patient care policies and procedures for patient care services and the organization; works with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care. ? Coordinates and directs internal/external audits and tracer activities. ? Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. ? Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes. ? Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare. ? Performs general nursing duties, as needed. ? Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Administration

Qualifications
Qualifications: Education: Associate of Science in Nursing, Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Preferred
Required Licenses: Must have a current Mississippi Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license. Required Certifications: ? Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ? Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. Experience: ?Minimum of three (3) years? experience in a managerial/leadership role, preferred. ?Minimum of three (3) years? clinical nursing experience in an ambulatory or surgical setting. Leadership Capabilities: Provides effective leadership and communication regarding the organization?s vision and values that are to be carried out in the day-to-day activities throughout the hospital. |
