This position involves material handing, shipping, receiving, customer service, and physical inventory counts. At higher levels, the position involves utilizing ERP software for research, transaction entry, analytical work related to inventory control and root cause analysis for cycle count and physical count variances, as well as the preparation and use of spreadsheets that include inventory information. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Technician Level 1 - Receives and unloads materials.
- Verifies material received is correct and free of damage.
- Operates forklift to move materials.
- Issues materials to operating groups.
- Delivers materials to job site as needed.
- Separates, counts, and evaluates returned materials.
- Uses ERP system to reference and verify information.
- Conducts inventory cycle counts and physical counts.
- Processes and stores materials requiring special handling including HAZMAT materials.
- Utilizes applications software such as Microsoft Excel and Word to maintain and reference data.
- References MSDS information for proper materials handling and storage.
- Works within department, EKPC, and OSHA policy and safety guidelines.
- Regularly cleans warehouse.
- Conducts safety walkthroughs.
- On-call duty for after-hours material needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Warehouse Technician Level 2 - Responsible for all Warehouse Technician Level 1 duties.
- Utilizes ERP system to complete system receiving reports and materials issues.
- Processes incorrect material returns to vendor.
- Utilizes ERP system to access inventory and purchasing information including standard and ad hoc reports.
- Prepares credit or salvage tickets.
- Ensures materials are issued and charged in accordance with proper EKPC accounting practices.
- Requisitions stock materials as needed.
- Resolves materials shortages by gathering information from ERP and communicating with Sourcing staff.
- Researches cause of cycle count and physical inventory count discrepancies.
- Tracks EKPC assets such as drums, cylinders, and critical items and properly maintains counts.
- Monitors fuel facility and notifies appropriate EKPC staff member of tank refill and service requirements.
- Ensures proper system locations exist for material and revises system locations as needed.
- Participates in the review of existing and development of new job hazard analysis.
- Utilizes applications software to maintain and reference data with the ability to use basic mathematic formulae with Excel to organize and manipulate data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Warehouse Technician Level 3 - Responsible for all Warehouse Technician Level 1 & 2 duties.
- Ensure proper receiving, issuing, and materials returns methods are followed.
- Processes daily/weekly replenishment requests and acts on immediate need material requests.
- Recommends changes in inventory levels (min/max settings) to improve service and efficiency.
- Recommends substitutes for out of stock items.
- Performs regular checks on designated critical stock items to ensure availability.
- Responds to Member Cooperative requests on priority basis and arranges for delivery.
- Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for stock-outs and physical/cycle count discrepancies including needed inventory adjustments.
- Ensures inventory record data integrity by maintaining quality control for nomenclature, stocking levels, manufacturer part numbers, and other pertinent elements of the inventory master file.
- Manages weekly cycle counts.
- Performs analysis and recommends solutions for supplier delivery problems and storage challenges.
- Ensures all materials have system locations and that all material physically relocated has proper system location changes.
- Uses ERP functions and queries as well as applications software to review and analyze data.
- Verifies all materials credits and salvages are verified against issues and processed in accordance with EKPC work practices.
- Processes repairable inventory item requests.
- Assists in identifying surplus inventory items.
- Assists in dispositioning surplus materials through EKPC's investment recovery program.
- Ensures work practices are in compliance with EKPC's Safe Work Manual and OSHA guidelines.
- Requisitions stock and non-stock materials as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Note: Duties and requirements within the various Warehouse Technician levels are cumulative. A Level 3 Technician shall have mastered the skills and knowledge of all previous levels and is capable of demonstrating them as needed in daily operations. |
