The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Financial Operations Specialist II to join our Finance team. Under the direction of the Financial Operations Advisor of the College of Dentistry (CoD), the Financial Operations Specialist II: Initiates various payroll accounting entries working in collaboration with the college's Research, Human Resources and Finance teams to ensure all payroll related transactions are properly accounted for and reported appropriately; serves as the college's primary point of contact for routine procurement and Accounts Payable transactions and issues; supports the fiscal operations of the college including participating in monthly and year-end close activities, initiates journal entries, processes deposits, participates in the annual budget process, pulls, prepares, monitors and distributes financial data and reporting, assists with reconciliation activities, responsible for asset management tracking, asset audits and surplus entry, manages PCI training and the merchant account audit process; special projects and other duties as assigned. Potential for Hybrid Schedule with 3 days on-site and up to 2 days remote Targeted hiring pay range is $26.49 - $34.80 per hour, based on experience and education. Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this position is subject to indoor environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work as well as reviewing documents both in hard copy and electronic formats. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks. Required: Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance or an equivalent combination of education/experience; knowledge of accounting principles and applications; 2 years of progressively responsible financial and administrative experience. Desired: Knowledge of university policies and procedures; proficiency in the universitys financial systems (i.e. Workday, Surplus, etc.); proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel using pivot tables and formulas; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated customer service mindset and collaborative style of work.
