Job Summary: | UW Clinical Trials Institute is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health. It supports clinical research professionals, investigators, and participants to advance discovery and research in the prevention, detection, and treatment of disease to help improve the health of individuals, families, and communities across Wisconsin and beyond. CTI is seeking a Clinical Trials Financial Analyst to provide comprehensive financial support services to CTI's leadership team and faculty conducting clinical research. This position will work closely with the Clinical Trials Associate Director of Finance, Accountants, Budget Negotiators and Clinical Research Coordinators in CTI to provide post-award clinical trial budget oversight.
This position will be expected to collect, analyze and monitor clinical trial financial data, submit and oversee research billing compliance activities, and review study calendars and budget setup for clinical trials in Oncore. This position will assist in the planning, implementation and continuous use of Oncore financials within CTI as well as assist in Workday transition planning and decision making. | Responsibilities: | Collects, analyzes, and monitors financial data to ensure efficient financial resource deployment. Develops budgets, handles complex fiscal analysis, and applies mathematical modeling to develop and interpret information that assist with decision making and policy formulation. - 20% Prepares reports, spreadsheets, and schedules with compiled financial data
- 10% Uses statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems
- 20% Processes general ledger entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Performs general ledger reconciliations and complex general ledger account analysis.
- 20% Participates in development, maintenance, and monitoring of automated financial information systems and budgets, and disseminates updates and results to leadership when appropriate
- 15% Participates in the development and implementation of financial processes throughout the department; including the development and provision of training and instructions, timelines, reports, and recommendations for improvement
- 15% Provide insight and financial data for the annual fiscal year budgeting process, with special consideration and analysis of East Park Medical Center clinical trial financial data.
