Peconic Pediatrics and Breastfeeding Medicine has proudly served the children and families of Long Island’s East End for many years. With two outpatient, primary care locations in Riverhead and Southold, we are a team of dedicated pediatricians and advanced practice providers who share a deep commitment to our patients, our community, and one another. As one of our valued physicians plans for retirement, we are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and team-oriented pediatrician to join our family.
Schedule: Three days per week: 9:00am - 5:00pm One day per week: 1:00pm - 7:00pm One Saturday OR Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm Shared call responsibilities are manageable, and supported by a night nurse service. No hospital rounds required.

Sign On Bonus Opportunity of up to $7,500.00 through 12/31/2024! Position Responsibilities: - Assesses the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination.
- Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations and laboratory examination, prescribes/alters medication regimens, interprets findings and alters plan-of-care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area.
- Provides teaching and counseling in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
- Documents findings and plan-of-care in the patient's medical record.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Performs a patient record review with the collaborating physician in a timely fashion.
- Advocates for patients/families and supports patients' rights.
- Maintains a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
- Acts as resource and leader to staff.
Qualifications: - NYS Physician License & Board Certified (BC)/Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatrics
- Current DEA Registration
- BLS, ACLS, PALS a plus
- Will consider new graduates; previous experience working in pediatrics a plus.
- Experience with EMR systems required; AthenaOne preferred
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to work and excel in a team environment.
- High level of professionalism when performing all duties
- Multi-tasking, flexibility, customer service, time management, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and quality focus.
Compensation Offered (negotiable, dependent upon experience): Salary: $180,000.00+ Benefits Offered (you must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible): -
