Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) - SMPPH Job ID: Location: Main Campus - UCR Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Category: Accounting and Finance Salary: $100,100 - $190,500 Full/Part Time: Full-time(100%) Organization: School of Medicine Department: Mark Wolfson Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Position Information: The School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) for the Department of Social Medicine, Population, and Public Health (SMPPH). The FAO is responsible for financial, administrative, operational, managerial, human resources, academic affairs and short- and long-range planning. In partnership with the Department Chair, as well as the Director of Community Engagement & Outreach for the Center for Health Communities, the FAO is responsible for developing short and long-range planning of administrative and financial goals and objectives; coordinates and carries out strategic support initiatives; serves in an advisory capacity to the department leadership on all matters related to the department's operations, taking initiative to develop administrative policy as required; serves as the main point of contact with the departments for non-medical issues and serves as a liaison with other departments as well as other campus offices and organizations; ensures that all University policies and procedures are strictly followed and enforced for all sources of revenue to the departments, and maintains accurate and comprehensive records related to all accounting and financial transactions performed by the department. Serves as the financial advisor to the leadership, responsible for managing the unit's operating budget, monitoring and/or participating in the development and implementation of Agreements and Provider-specific Profit and Loss (P&L) Statements; helps initiate the contracting process in partnership with the SOM Central Contracts unit and manages the annual Faculty Appointments Renewal process. This position has significant responsibility in organizing work to achieve broadly stated goals for the department, programs, and lines of business. The FAO identifies objectives, provides leadership, develops strategies and policies, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. SMPPH is a research-intensive department with substantial grants and contracts funding; the FAO will support the department in efforts related to funded research and service projects. There is one position available at various levels for the Educational Analyst recruitments. The hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. The full salary range for the Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) - SMPPH is $100,100 - $190,500 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $120,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
