![]() Financial Analyst 2 University of California Riverside Job Number: 31504383 Full/Part Time: Full Time Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Salary: $59,000 - $103,400 Position Information Manage the financial operations of the large, fast-growing multidisciplinary institute, the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology, and its affiliated research centers (Center for Plant Cell Biology and Center for Disease Vector Research), with multiple (currently 5) complex sales and service instrumentation operations. Develop new rate structures and conduct periodic analytical reviews for 100+ diverse instrumentation rates. Perform high-level budget/resource analyses and prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports for the IIGB Director and Managing Director, principal investigators, and administration, utilizing complex analytical tools and incorporating funding strategies for short- and long-term forecasts. Prepare agency-specific, multi-year budgets and complete the submission and post-award administration of multidisciplinary contracts and grants and other novel collaborative initiatives promoted by the Institute. Develop data management tools for comprehensive management of financial operations. The full salary range for the Financial Analyst 2 is $28.26 - $49.52 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $28.26 - $32.57 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required Minimum Requirements Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally. Ability to function as a member of a team. Some knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments. Working knowledge of general accounting principles, fund accounting, budget development, payroll processes and general ledger. Some knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated work experience in higher education. Demonstrated knowledge of the University of California's financial policies and procedures, including Sales and Service Activities. Demonstrated knowledge of UCR's financial system and the client/server systems. Experience in preparation and submission of contract and grant proposals. Experience in preparing and submitting rate applications for moderately complex sales and service operations.
