This position isresponsible for the integration of risk management, governance, public safety,and compliance activities. This position routinely communicates with thepresident and senior leadership as an independent and objective body thatreviews and evaluates issues/concerns within the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Responsible for directing a risk assessment and analysis program, including facilitating discussion to identify risk and develop strategies to mitigate or manage risk within acceptable levels;
- Provide effective oversight and work closely with departments to develop, implement, and maintain an effective and broad-based compliance program designed to monitor, detect, and prevent areas of non-compliance;
- Monitor and assess internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, identify areas of risk and recommend improvements to mitigate potential violations;
- Recommend corrective action when necessary to fully meet compliance regulations. Specific areas of compliance include the following: academic programs, campus police; disability services, emergency preparedness, environmental health and safety, financial aid, fiscal services, governance, human resources, and information privacy and security;
- Implement and manage a Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) platform;
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with outsourcing to third-party vendors, suppliers, contractors, or partners;
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating institutional policies to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices;
- Communicate policy changes and provide training to employees to ensure awareness and compliance;
- Manage and update the compliance calendar to ensure timely adherence to all regulatory deadlines and reporting requirements;
- Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect MassBay's core values when interacting with members of the MassBay community;
- Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years of relevant experience;
- Progressive understanding and command of technological best practices for a college compliance analyst;
- Knowledge and understanding of FERPA, state and federal regulations, and other applicable laws;
- Experience documenting business processes and procedures;
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and quality;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, meet ongoing deadlines, and perform all essential functions of the position;
- Commitment to the community college mission and serving the needs of first generation and traditionally underserved populations;
- Commitment to embracing diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
Preferred Qualifications: - Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

- Master's degree in business or related field from an accredited institution;
- Professional certification, e.g., CRM, CCEP, CIA, CFE;
- Experience in the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management and/or compliance program;
- Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, industry standards and related compliance issues;
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of shared governance and transparency;
- Ability to develop effective and respectful working relationships with all levels of the college community;
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong collaborative skills, and proficiency in oral and written communication;
- Database management skills;
- Demonstrated experience working in higher education.
