Manager, Neuroscience Microscopy Service Center

The Cell Sciences Imaging Facility (CSIF) seeks a manager of advanced neuroscience imaging for its Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Microscopy Service. The CSIF is a university-wide imaging center that provides high resolution, state-of-the-art imaging technologies and visualization-analysis software for multidimensional analysis of cells and tissue. The facility operates 3 interdependent microscopy facilities on Stanford University's campus: the Beckman Center CSIF, The Shriram Center CSIF, and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Microscopy Service. The Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Microscopy Service (NMS) manager will be responsible for supporting the strategic planning and execution of the NMS's long-range objectives as well as providing day-to-day operations. This is a fast paced, multi-faceted position for an accomplished microscopist-neuroscientist who seeks to operate and develop an advanced neuro-focused microscopy user facility. Primary users will be researchers from the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute. The manager will oversee operation and administration of the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Microscopy Services service center covering the following components*:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A MS or PhD degree in neuroscience, biology or biomedical research is preferred with at least 2 years relevant experience supporting advanced imaging technologies preferably in a user facility. Position requires expert knowledge in both the theory and practice of advanced biological light microscopy imaging including but not limited to confocal, light sheet, deconvolution, multiphoton, and live cell and intravital imaging. This requires an advanced understanding of light microscope function and design and a wide-ranging knowledge of molecular, cellular, and whole organism anatomy and function, especially those related to the common model organisms used by the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute research community. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

The expected pay range for this position is $102,931 to $129,037 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
