Department Summary The department of Budget & Finance is responsible for the preparation and administration of the University budget. Responsibilities include planning and resource analysis to improve the allocation and use of resources and development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure fiscal control and responsibility. The unit is the primary source for budgetary information and provides professional assistance and advice to the administration and faculty relating to budgetary and other fiscal matters. The department of Budget & Finance is responsible for position management and processing the monthly university payroll data through the Labor Cost Distribution (LCD) module and for the monitoring, analysis, and reconciliation of the payroll to the appropriate accounts in the General Ledger. Responsibilities include input, analysis, testing and maintenance of the PeopleSoft Position Management and Labor Cost Distribution modules. The department of Budget & Finance consists of one director, one manager, one management analyst and two budget analysts. Education and Experience Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Key Qualifications
Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,000 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
