HVAC PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - (T221531)
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Incomplete job profiles will not be processed. Please be certain to showcase depth and breadth of experience, as related to the needs of this job announcement.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required. MVR: Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Mechanical skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate handheld equipment for work orders
Candidate must demonstrate verifiable skills in the following: - Basic Mechanical Aptitude
- Mathematics and Communications Trades
- HVAC Mechanic
- Refrigeration Cycle
- Pneumatic, Electronic and Electric Controls for HVAC Systems
- Temperature and Humidity Relationship
Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of his position to include: - Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
- Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet
- Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distance between and within buildings on campus
- Working in confined spaces
- Working within extreme temperature ranges
