Clerk IV, TRIO Upward Bound and Talent Search Clerk IV, TRIO Upward Bound and Talent Search Grade 13, AFSCME Unit position, 37.5 hours/week Campus Location: Lynn SALARY: $1,803.41 biweekly, ($46,888.66 per year) with fringe benefits. An appointment made from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at this salary, step #1 of the range or as adjusted in accordance with the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. Click HERE for a highlight of these benefits. TRIO UPWARD BOUND Upward Bound is an intensive, year-round college-preparatory program. Our mission is to assist low-income, first-generation college bound high school students in the successful completion of secondary education and prepare them academically and socially for enrollment and completion of higher education. This is accomplished by providing participants with rigorous and nurturing academic courses; tutoring services; college-preparatory workshops; academic, college, and financial aid advising; career exploration; leadership opportunities; and cultural enrichment. Upward Bound offers services to students through an after-school program and monthly cohort meetings at North Shore Community College during the school year and a five to six-week academic program during the summer; including a two-three-week residential component. TRIO TALENT SEARCH The Talent Search program is a partnership between NSCC and Lynn Public Schools (LPS). The program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The UB and TS Program Clerk is a dynamic team-player who provides general clerical support to the program director, program counselors, tutors, and assists with data entry, clerical and organizational needs of both programs.
