Description

As an Accountant with our New Century Health Plan, you will be responsible for providing technical and general accounting assistance to the Controller. You will:

 
• Assist in processing the general ledger month-end closing including coordination with internal and external data customers and suppliers, internal and external financial reporting, liaise with finance department contacts
• Perform professional accounting duties such as prepare journal ledger entries, identify and analyze variances of financial data, maintenance, consolidation and reconciliations of financial records
• Responsible for providing training, guidance, and assistance to other employees

Salary Range: $68,800-$141,000/annually

Qualifications

We’re seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience or equivalent, preferably in managed care required
  • Supervisory and government accounting experience, highly desired
  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices
  • Knowledge of management reporting and financial statement preparation
  • Experience with Workday or other EPMs a plus
  • Experience working in Medicare Advantage space is a plus
  • Skill in financial analysis
  • Skill in written and verbal communication to prepare clear and concise correspondence
  • Ability to reconcile departmental records to system reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
