The Financial Aid Data Analyst reports directly to the Senior Financial Aid Data Analyst and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of financial aid systems used to award and deliver funds to students. The Data Analyst role is to import/export financial aid data between PeopleSoft and Department of Education software (COD, ED Connect, ED Express, NSLDS, Cal Grant, etc.) The Data Analyst is also responsible for adhering to complex government and institutional regulations. This position is in-person. Essential duties include but are not limited to: Data Processing (40%) - Import/export financial aid data (ISIR, Direct Loan, Pell Grant, etc.) between PeopleSoft and the Department of Education software.
- Responsible for the Federal Work Study file upload to the COD system.
- Process the disbursement of all federal, state, and institutional financial aid.
Systems (30%) - Perform analytical and technical support to financial aid systems.
- Assist the Senior Financial Aid Data Analyst with maintaining an extensive Oracle query library.
- Maintaining and updating student communications and financial aid checklist items within the Oracle database 3C Engine.
Reporting (20%) - Assist with Cal Grant reporting (SB70, GPA file upload).
- Assist with NAIA annual reporting
- Assist with data collection for various federal, state, and institutional reporting requirements.
- Assist with monthly and year-end reconciliation with the Department of Education and university accounts.
Administrative (10%) - Attend various training workshops and webinars such as Higher Education User Group (HEUG), CASFAA, or the Federal Student Aid Training Conference to maintain and expand financial aid regulation and process knowledge.
- Provide knowledge and training to other Financial Aid staff and student workers as needed.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Senior Financial Aid Data Analyst as needed.
Qualifications: Education - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business administration, data science, or other related discipline.
Experience - A minimum of three years administrative work experience.
- Some higher education experience preferred.

- High proficiency in computer systems utilizing databases, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.

- Demonstrated experience working with PeopleSoft or similar systems.
- Knowledge of querying datasets or databases, data structures, and SQL query language.
- Knowledge of student information software systems.
- General knowledge of basic software coding and software program logic.
