Description: This time-limited position will work with the ACT Scholars Program.The ACT Scholars program is a STEM Pathways support program based on collaboration between community colleges and NC A&T State University. ACTS will facilitate transfer student experience and success. The Academic Advisor provides academic advising to students as assigned. The Academic Advisor will make student referrals to support services in CAE and to other appropriate services on-campus and off campus, tracks students' academic progress, curriculum patterns, co-curricular activities, etc.; collaborates with other CAE and designated College staff to design and monitor individual academic enrichment plans, including supplemental instruction and tutoring, and collaborate with campus partnes to facilitate workshops. This is full-time, twelve-month, EPA non-teaching, non-tenure track position. This opportunity supports the University's new centralized advising framework, which calls for the expansion of our current academic advising workforce. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: CAE is a unit providing academic support services to help students excel academically and cultivate life skills critical to timely graduation and global citizenship. To accomplish its mission, CAE offers a wide-range of services and programs that promote student success, such as centralized academic advising, supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, tutoring, etc. The unit collaborates with various academic units to reinforce academic expectations and address factors that affect student success and graduation. Requirements: Master's Degree in relative field with 1-3 years of professional academic advising experience working with undergraduate students. Experience coordinating college-level student life programs, with preference for those who have experience providing academic advisement. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and student information systems. Knowledge of student development theories and models. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to supervise and interact with students. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred:
