Position summary: The position establishes the overall financial plans of the Cooperative while keeping in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and all other regulatory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. The position also directs the operation of processes for accounting, member services, and the purchasing/warehouse departments. This position also plays a leadership role in the Cooperative’s for-profit fiber subsidiary as well as being on the Board of Managers. Role qualifications: - Must possess strong financial management skills along with business acumen.

- Strong communication ability to present technical and non-technical information to different types of groups.
Position responsibilities: - Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
- Participate in the development of the Cooperative’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the cooperative may enter.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the cooperative.
- Develop and maintain proper procurement of FEMA compliant contracts and processes
- Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of a financial management plan, budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Exec. VP/CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Participate, along with an outside consultant, in the analysis of SVEC rates and rate structures.
- Serves as a member of The Plan Committee for SVEC’s 401(k) pension plan.
- Serves as a member of the Board of Managers for Rapid Fiber Internet, LLC and provides financial oversight to Rapid Fiber Internet staff.
- Provides financial oversight for Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative Foundation, Inc.
- Perform other duties as needed.
