Internal Job Number: P08806UF Description: The Office of Budget and Resource Planning is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for Budget Development. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The Office of Budget and Resource Planning coordinates the overall allocation of financial resources to all units of the University including academic units, administrative units, and institutional reserves to achieve strategic and operational outcomes defined collaboratively by the Provost and the Chief Financial Officer. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Budget and Resource Planning. This position works within the goals and priorities set by the university strategic plan, the Office of Budget and Resource Planning, and the Division of Finance and Administration, to determine and implement appropriate solutions for strategic and operational budgeting and analytical planning needs. This position provides advanced analytic and statistical modeling using existing financial data sets in support of the development of the university's Shared Responsibility Budget Model, the university's tuition model, strategic institutional initiatives, and other resource planning and management activities. This position provides input into the design and structure of the overall university enterprise data ecosystem to ensure it meets the business needs of the university and supports budget planning purposes. Problems faced are non-routine, often complicated in nature, utilizing complex data sets and an in-depth knowledge of university financial management and structures. Successful employees in this position exhibit advanced skills in business and financial management, statistical analyses, and reporting tools, and highly effective interpersonal communication between technical and non-technical audiences. They will apply advanced knowledge of OSU financial structures, systems, and processes to advance the overall budget and resource planning of the university. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related field. 10 years of experience in budget development and analysis. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq.
