Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for design and support of Prism, enterprise replicated data, and related data solutions databases used for the ERP decision support by faculty and staff within Minnesota State College and Universities. Areas of responsibility include ingestion of data, extraction, and transformation; logical and physical database design, development, maintenance, and interaction with operating system(s). The incumbent for this position develops and supports Prism and related software products. The position is responsible for implementing the operational security of data within Prism and related software products. Project management responsibilities are included for planning, installation, security, performance, maintenance and documentation. Performance tuning and mentorship of team members are also key to this position.Minimum QualificationsFive (5) years of database administration experience supporting large scale data stores and/or database environmentKnowledge and experience creating data sources within Prism, and/or enterprise replicated data and related data solutions; databases and/or data stores sufficient to support an ERP and business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and citizen data scientists.Ability to mitigate risk and understand the ramifications and impact that decisions have at a systems levelManage time and resources and effectively; and balance multiple, competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively on large/complex system deployment projects in a team environmentEffective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to explain and document complex processes and proceduresPreferred QualificationProven track record of deploying highly available services for large organizationsPrevious experience with system administration and a thorough understanding of storage, network and virtual technologyKnowledge of and experience with project management methodologies and best practicesBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experienceOther Requirementsn/aWork Shift (Hours / Days of work)Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pmTelework (Yes/No)YesAboutMinnesota State is committed to attracting, retaining, and developing talented employees who serve our 270,000 students each year throughout the state. About Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, System Office
With its 31 institutions, including 24 two-year colleges and seven state universities, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The colleges and universities operate 54 campuses in 47 Minnesota communities and serve about 250,000 students in credit-based courses. Overall, the system produces about 33,500 graduates each year. In addition to credit-based courses, the system offers customized training programs that serve about 153,200 employees from 6,000 Minnesota businesses each year. The law creating the system was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1991 and went into effect July 1, 1995. The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
