Director, MBA Career Advising & Education

The Stanford Graduate School of Business Career Management Center (CMC) is a high-performing department that serves approximately 900 MBA students and 80 MSx students (mid-career professionals in a one-year Masters in Management program), and over 32,000 alumni. The mission of the MBA Career Services team within the CMC is to provide world-class career services for MBA students, and support for MSx, PhD and GSB alumni as needed. The CMC seeks a Director of MBA Career Services to lead the team supporting students in their career journeys from admission through graduation. The Director will be a member of the CMC leadership team, manage the team of MBA Career Advisors, oversee career education content development for MBAs, create and deliver career education content, coach students as they develop their career strategy, advise students on their job search strategy, and evaluate and manage external career service vendors. The Director will report to the Assistant Dean & Director of the Career Management Center. This is a full time, hybrid position with the expectation of working onsite 3-5 days per week. Primary Responsibilities* Set the goals, objectives and strategy for MBA Career Services, including an assessment of career services needs and development and delivery of virtual and in-person career education programs, online resources, 1:1 coaching, and networking opportunities in collaboration with the CMC leadership team and other key constituents (e.g., MBA & MSx Programs, Center for Entrepreneurship (CES), Center for Social Innovation (CSI)).
Work with MBA students in 1:1 advising appointments as they develop and execute their career goals, including both general career advising as well as sharing of personal knowledge about specific industries and functions.
Minimum Requirements
The expected pay range for this position is $130,949 to $181,000 per year. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
