Supervisor of Accounting

Southside Electric Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to lead our accounting team in delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our Cooperative and supporting our mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable power solutions to our members.

What will you do if you are hired?

• Supervise employees, conduct performance appraisals, recommend salary increases, train, assign work to, and review work of employees.
• Supervise all accounting procedures for the Cooperative. 
• Supervise the preparation of financial statements and other monthly reports. 
• Oversee financial related filing requirements. 
• Coordinate and oversee the preparation for all accounting related audits (i.e., annual financial, sales tax, RUS work plan, etc.). 
• Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and reconciling cash accounts daily. 
• Maintain an educational knowledge that will allow the Cooperative’s accounting department to function at a high and efficient level at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Supervisory experience
• CPA license and experience in public accounting preferred
• Federal emergency relief filing experience preferred
• Residency within 60 minutes legal driving time of our headquarters office in Crewe, VA required.

This is an exempt level position.

Starting Pay: $88,694+ based on experience and qualifications. 

The Supervisor of Accounting is an onsite position, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
