Job Description ANIMAL LABORATORY SPECIALIST I-TRAINING This is a specialized position that assists with the training of ARP personnel. The Laboratory Animal Specialist I - Training provides training on all duties essential to proper care of laboratory animals and specialized colonies within assigned areas. The position requires good communication, ability to learn and train, and be comfortable working with a variety of species. The position may involve any of the following: meeting new employees, onboarding new employees, reviewing SOPs, training individuals and in a group setting, training in a classroom setting and hands-on. The position may require report to internal and external agencies to ensure adherence to Federal, State and UAB procedures and requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:
Hourly Wage: $15.50-$25.20 QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED and one (1) year of (animal) related experience required. Certified at any level by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) preferred. All external candidates must pass a Drug & TB Skin Test.
