Accountability: Reports to Grade Level Dean Position Description: The Denver Academy teacher is responsible for executing Denver Academy’s mission of inspiring and empowering diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. This includes oversight and responsibility for students, program, and day-to-day operations in the classroom. The teacher is also responsible for communicating with parents and acting as a liaison with other division classrooms and the rest of the DA community. Teaching: The high school mathematics teacher will design and implement engaging, standards-aligned instruction that fosters mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The teacher will develop lessons that reflect the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) principles, emphasizing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world applications. Candidates should demonstrate strong content knowledge ensuring alignment with state and national standards. The teacher will differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, integrate technology effectively, and use assessment data to inform instruction. Additionally, they will meet regularly with the Director of Mathematics for support and direction, ensuring best practices in curriculum delivery and student achievement.
