Position Purpose: The information technology (IT) Financial/Budget Analyst, reporting through the IT Business Operations department, serves as a key resource for financial planning for University Technology Services (UTS) at Oakland University and coordinates between technical units to help ensure the efficient and strategic planning for financial resources. Main responsibilities include: ● Coordinating directly with the CIO and IT leadership staff to develop the UTS budget ● Tracking and monitoring UTS expenditures and working to ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints and cost-saving initiatives ● Developing plans for the appropriate allocation of resources to IT departments ● Overseeing critical tasks such as cost management, funding proposals, grants management, and financial reporting ● Regularly collaborating with IT procurement, project management, and coordinators to address department needs ● Supporting UTS risk management by assessing and mitigating financial risks ● Conducting financial planning and forecasting for UTS ● Balancing monthly ledgers for UTS Working with campus departments, including University Technology Services, analyze and evaluate multi-year and long term cost projections related to total project costs for technology solutions.
