SENIOR GUEST SERVICES COORDINATOR-UAB ARTS

Job Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a SENIOR GUEST SERVICES COORDINATOR-UAB ARTS to work under the immediate supervision of the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Coordinator for UAB Center for the Arts is someone who understands and adheres to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization. UAB Arts Center for the Arts encompasses four main pillars of service through Performing Arts (Alys Stephens Center), Contemporary Visual Art, (AEIVA), Art Education (ArtPlay), and Well-being/ healing through the Arts (Arts in Medicine); in addition the organization is also the home to the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and residential partners to UAB's Department of Music and Theatre. The Guest Service Coordinator works with a certain expectation of trust and standards, capable of serving as a team lead when necessary. The position is one who provides central hub support to the organization helping to sale, recommend, inform, and update the public on all events taking place within the Center for the Arts. This position also provides administrative support to the Guest Services team. Encounters with the public are face to face, phone, and some email which means exceptional patron service and professionalism are the key points for the success of this position. RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Hourly Rate: $18.35 - $23.00) Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner executing the highest level of professionalism internally and externally. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Ability to learn and operate ticketing software, Availability to work events, Ability to listen, accept/receive instructions for execution, Accountability. Preferred Skills: Prior experience with venues that hosts live events, Ticketing/box office Organizations/Call Centers that deals in high face to face or phone encounters.
