Assistant/Associate Professor - Implementation Science

Job SummaryThe Department of Population Health Sciences (DPHS) at Geisinger invites applications for a faculty position (open rank) in Implementation Science to join our multidisciplinary team of researchers. The applicant should have expertise in the use of implementation science (IS) research methods. We are interested in candidates who have or will develop an independent, extramurally funded research program and/or to serve as a key scientific collaborator in team science. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in a health-related field with training in (or substantial experience with) IS. Conducts and supervises original research in accordance with nationally accepted ethical and regulatory guidelines. Provides professional, substantive and technical support in the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of findings from research, demonstration and evaluation projects. Contributes to the programmatic goals of the research enterprise.Job Duties
Position DetailsThe DPHS is embedded in the Geisinger health system, a large integrated health system with a longstanding commitment to research and a research portfolio that includes funding from the NIH, CDC, PCORI, state and foundation grants, and industry. The DPHS faculty includes a dedicated team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services researchers, behavioral scientists, health economists, and clinician researchers. Faculty have access to longitudinal electronic medical record (EMR), claims, genetic, and environmental data as well as opportunities to lead the implementation and evaluation of healthcare interventions in a range of clinical settings. Geisinger is a designated participant in the PCORI Health System Implementation Initiative (HSII). This initiative applies implementation science theories and methods to implement evidence-based interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with health system data and/or developing, implementing, or evaluating care models that integrate social factors. There is also the opportunity for teaching in an upcoming Masters of Population Health degree program at the Geisinger College of Health Sciences.
