Recreation Center Supervisor

Summary of Duties: This position reports to the Recreation Superintendent and under general direction, plans, promotes, organizes and administers recreation programs, services and facilities. Assists in providing general oversight of the recreation division including direct management of a Recreation Center(s). Essential Employee Responsibilities: During emergency conditions, subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises approximately 8-10 employees in the Recreation Division. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. Work performed by those being supervised is semi-complex. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk and frequent physical effort is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
