Dean of Student Life
Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School
Georgetown Visitation, founded in 1799, is an all-girls high school rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition, committed to educating young women from diverse backgrounds. We are a faith-centered community dedicated to educational excellence, enriched by co-curricular and service programs. We guide our students as they integrate the search for truth with the pursuit of knowledge and dedicate their God-given gifts to making the world a better place. Visitation is currently searching for a full-time, 11-month Dean of Student Life to oversee all aspects of the school’s co-curricular programming. The Dean works closely with faculty, staff, parents, and the broader school community to create a safe and enriching environment for students. The Dean of Student Life actively supports the mission and charism of the school and helps foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all students. The Dean encourages students’ holistic growth and development through co-curricular opportunities, including athletics, the arts, and student clubs. The ideal candidate is energetic and is eager to educate and guide young women at this critical time in their lives, as well as to collaborate closely with colleagues to create an excellent, comprehensive, and cohesive co-curricular program that provides leadership opportunities for all students. The Dean of Student Life works hand-in-hand with both the Principal and Personal Counseling team to address student concerns, including mental health and disciplinary issues. Visitation embraces a redemptive approach to discipline that emphasizes accountability, reflection, and growth. The Dean helps ensure that all disciplinary matters are handled fairly and compassionately with respect for the dignity of each student. As educators in the Visitation tradition, our faculty and staff form lives as well as impart knowledge. We seek to inspire our students to be lifelong learners, and we expect our faculty and staff to be as well. To learn more about what it means to be a Visitation educator, we encourage you to read Educating the Mind and Heart, a brief pamphlet that outlines the six goals of a Visitation education.
