Assistant Professor in Mental Health Counseling

The Department of Psychology at Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA) seeks an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position, specifically to support the reestablishment of the Mental Health Counseling master’s program, which has been on hold since the summer of 2023. Candidates should exhibit a commitment to teaching, developing their individual scholarship, involving students in research, advising graduate students, and mentoring undergraduate psychology students. Candidates should be prepared to teach graduate-level counseling and undergraduate-level psychology and/or behavioral health courses, be eligible to supervise counseling practica and/or internship, and provide quality service to the department, university, community, and their profession. The faculty member who accepts this position must be willing to commit to teaching on the Ellensburg campus and have the desire and skills to effectively teach in-person and online or web enhanced courses via both synchronous and asynchronous formats. This position is initially funded by a generous donation from Comprehensive Healthcare, a regional behavioral health services organization, for two years, after which it will be assumed by the university. The faculty will be the Comprehensive Healthcare Assistant Professor and will use this title in all position-related communications for 6 years beginning in 2025. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Annual Salary: $61,999 - $69,500, based on a full-time nine-month appointment. Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9-Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
