Job Description Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for the execution of clinical research studies within the Department of Neurology's Stroke Division at the University of Pennsylvania. The candidate will carry out daily activities related industry-sponsored and federally-funded research protocols, as well as assist in the conduct of investigator-initiated research and division-specific research projects and operations.

Job Description

CRC-A: This is a primarily onsite, patient-facing role. The CRC-A coordinates the conduct of clinical research studies, including the recruitment and retention of clinical trial participants. Schedules and runs study visits as per protocol. Processes and ships research samples. Maintains study files, completes data entry, corresponds with study sponsors and monitors, attends study monitoring visits, attends and participates in research team meetings. Prepares and submits regulatory documents to the IRB. Additional duties include regular office duties (e.g. scanning and filing research records, maintaining study supply inventories). Works closely with members of the research team, including other Clinical Research Coordinators, the Associate Director, Physicians, Fellows, Pharmacists, and Nurses.

CRC-B: The CRC-B will have demonstrable experience and proficiency in the above-listed duties, and will carry out these duties with limited supervision. The CRC-B will act as a resource for entry-level team members and assist with the training of new staff.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

CRC-A: Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
CRC-B: Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Must be detail-oriented with organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Prior experience with IRB guidelines, policies, human subject research practices and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols is preferred
Due to varying study protocol designs and stringent project deadlines, candidates should have the ability to occasionally work outside of normal work week hours.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a strong ability to communicate with clinicians, researchers, patients and families. Job may require communication with staff and patients outside of office hours.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people
Must be able to exercise discretion with confidential information
