The School is seeking an Assistant Director of Academic Affairs to start no later than July 1, 2025. This position reports to the Director of Academic Affairs and helps to oversee the academic functions of the school including: accreditation; curriculum, assessment, and instruction; ISBE and other instructional compliance; grant management; instructional technology; mentoring; and professional development. The Director and Assistant Director will work closely to ensure alignment between professional development and curriculum implementation. The Assistant Director will focus specifically on the professional development aspects of this work. The Assistant Director of Academic Affairs also serves on School and Board of Trustees committees and task forces, as deemed necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction: - Collaborate with faculty and divisional leadership on annual course and class offerings.
- Work with faculty, departmental chairs, and divisional leadership on curriculum and instructional needs.
- Work with the Director of DEI and divisional DEI Coordinators to understand and implement appropriate DEI standards across three divisions.
- Support the Director of Academic Affairs in oversight of curriculum review, including national, state, and other professional standards and resources.
Compliance: - Serve as the lead contact and facilitator for ISACS accreditation.
- Ensure ISBE instructional compliance, as well as any other instructional audits/reporting needs.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure successful completion of instructional compliance training (mentor training, supervisor evaluation training, etc.).
- Oversee all aspects of grant compliance and reporting.
- Provide broad leadership of the School’s instructional technology, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and security.
People Support and Development: - Oversee the technological support for the consistent application of faculty evaluations and the warehousing of data associated with this work.
- Provide leadership for the formal mentor/mentee program for new faculty.
- Provide targeted PD for divisional and/or all-school initiatives.
- Share professional development opportunities with faculty and staff, and ensure policy and financial compliance.
- Share annual information and ensure logistical and financial compliance on sabbaticals, summer travel opportunities, curriculum work, faculty fellows, and other professional development programs.
- Oversee the annual School award program.
Day-to-Day Management and Leadership: - Support the registrar functions of the office including class placement, classroom locations, the development and dissemination of student transcripts, and the like.
- Actively participate in professional organizations that bring additional and resources to the work of the School.
- Participate in meetings with community groups and organizations, as appropriate and necessary for the functioning of the School.
- Represent the School in community activities assigned by the Director of Academic Affairs.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Serve in other capacities that support the student life program, including but not limited to sitting on task forces or committees, serving as liaison to student organizations, assisting with evening/weekend programming, etc.
