The Dean's Office Finance team is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and oversight of financial operations within SDSS. In the current fiscal year (2023-2024), SDSS operates on a consolidated budget of approximately $165M. It is a basis on which SDSS is expected to grow exponentially over the coming decade as it moves toward fulfilling its long-range plan and mission. This Financial Analyst role is ideal for a self-motivated, seasoned finance professional looking to expand their organizational impact. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to solve problems and perform analytical tasks. They must possess, or demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire, in-depth knowledge of university policies, systems, and practices necessary to perform their job duties as well as to serve as a resource to the school community. They must be a proactive problem-solver and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, propose recommendations, and implement solutions. It is critical that the successful candidate is an effective communicator, able to organize and communicate complex financial information using an appropriate combination of spreadsheets, graphs, and narratives. They must also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships within the school community as well as the broader university. The expected pay range for this position is $111,000 to $143,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
