Job DescriptionSCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH: COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR Oversees a broad range of communications and ensures a consistent communications strategy for assigned client (school, business unit or entity) at UAB. Collaborates and interacts with all necessary parties, including but not limited to, faculty, staff and students to identify various marketing, publications and media relations needs. Creates strategies to respond to those needs. May oversee management of website content for assigned entity/entities. Responsible for web analytics, multimedia content and data collection instruments. Manages the use of social and other electronic media for delivering integrated messages to reach broad audiences which may consist of students, parents, alumni, donors, faculty, and others within the university community. Serves as the lead creative / technical writer and editor for assigned client. Under the direction of the Office of Public Relations & Marketing, proactively forms and cultivates relationships with local, state and national media outlets, journalists and editors to seek appropriate opportunities for assigned UAB client media coverage in print, television, video and online media. Duties & Responsibilities:
Annual Salary: $60,835 - $98,855 QualificationsBachelors degree in Business, Communications, Journalism or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.
