Spanish Teacher, Upper School

Position Summary: This position involves a full-time high school teaching position primarily teaching Spanish classes at some combination of levels 1-5. This position begins August 1, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year.  

• Instructing students in subject content along with reading and grading student work
• Demonstrating a high level of responsiveness to students
• Serving as an adviser to a group of upper school students 
• Experience with proficiency-based language instruction in an immersive environment preferred 
• Managing student behavior in a manner that optimizes the learning environment
• Maintain regular communication with students and their parents regarding progress
• Working cooperatively with other grade-level teachers to implement common course syllabi and assessments 
• Other Duties as assigned

• Have a working knowledge and experience teaching high school Spanish
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrating tact and diplomacy
• Ability to leverage technology, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Google apps, language lab software, and interactive whiteboard technology 
• A solid understanding of learning challenges as well as the accommodations and differentiated learning techniques to support such
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills?

• Undergraduate degree in Spanish or Foreign Language Education from an accredited institution of higher learning; master’s degree in Spanish or education preferred; native or near-native fluency in Spanish
• 3+ years of successful teaching high school Spanish preferred
• Independent school experience preferred, but not required

The Spanish Teacher, Upper School is a exempt, 10-month position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
