Primary School Lead Teacher

Position Purpose This full-time position requires the teacher to teach multiple subject areas to approximately 12-14 pre-kindergarten students (four years old) in a self-contained classroom that values project-based learning, collaboration, and differentiated instruction. In a nurturing environment, the classroom teacher must integrate developmentally appropriate teaching of core curriculum skills in reading and writing readiness, handwriting, math, science, and social studies. Students have access to 1:1 iPads, and teachers are expected to leverage technology, when appropriate, as an integral part of the learning experience. This position supervises students within the classroom and other assigned areas. A full-time teaching assistant is also present in the School, and students have P.E., music, art, and Godly Play, which specialists lead. Key Accountabilities

Additional Salary Information: St. John’s Episcopal School Benefit Package – Updated March, 2025 •Base Salary – payable monthly over 12 months, the last working day of the month o All applicable federal taxes are withheld o All deductions elected by the employee •FICA and Med FICA – 7.65% paid by employer/7.65% paid by employee •Medical Insurance – Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois o The School is a member of the ISAS Trust. The medical plan is overseen by a Board of Directors of the Trust. The Board of Directors is comprised of one representative from each participating school. The Trust is a MEWA operating in the State of Texas. While the Board oversees the Plan Benefits, Blue Cross/Blue Shield administers the plan in conjunction with Ameri-Ben who reviews and pays claims. The employee pays 25% of his/her coverage for the first year of plan participation. After one year of participation, the School pays 100% of the employee’s medical, pharmacy and dental coverage. Family coverage is available to the employee at 100% cost to the employee. There are 2 medical choice options: ?CDHP – high deductible plan, employee will be compensated $1,000 annually to help offset the high deductible through an HSA account. ?Co-Pay – PPO plan, employee may participate in an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) on a voluntary basis.
