1. Processes financial documents, payrolls and deposits of funds. Ensures expenses and revenue are posted to proper accounts. 2. Serves as principal source of information on financial policies, procedures and financial activity. 3. Instructs departmental personnel in financial aspects of their jobs. 4. Serves as petty cash cashier. 5. Reconciles and analyzes financial statements. Identifies, researches and corrects questionable financial activity. 6. Prepares standardized and specialized financial reports and analyses. 7. Serves as Notary Public. 8. Assists with the development and implementation of systems and procedures. 9. Oversees the maintenance of financial records and files. 10. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Skill/ability 1: Superior customer service orientation and interpersonal skills and ability to respond in a constructive and timely manner. Ability to deal with confidential information and issues with integrity and trustworthiness. Ability to work in a team environment. Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, ability to strongly multi-task and manage a wide variety of complex tasks in a time-constrained environment and requiring highly effective organizational and problem-solving skills, sound independent judgment, and the ability to prioritize - all with minimal supervision. Required Skill/ability 3: Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems and utilize independent judgment, prioritize, manage and monitor a variety of ongoing tasks such as procurement of goods and services. Required Skill/ability 4: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to work effectively with a diverse population. Ability to adapt communication style to address the needs of individuals at all levels and represent the department in a professional manner. Required Skill/ability 5: Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, and demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work occasional holidays, recess periods, and weekends. Preferred Education: Strong financial or bookkeeping experience. Experience with Workday, Sci-Quest, Brass Ring/STARS. Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school-level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. |
