 Speech Pathologist (Per Diem) Job Summary The Speech Pathologist requires a depth of theoretic and applied knowledge for diagnosing and treating patients with augmentative communication needs, developmental speech, and language disorders, acquired cognitive and language disorders, fluency, voice, dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria. The Speech Pathologist functions autonomously, providing teaching and consultation with other departments, physician, and therapy specialists within UCDMC, educational specialists as well as other community agencies/service providers. This position requires coordination with primary care/service providers and management of insurance authorizations. Department Description The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Sacramento medical center campus. It is equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice typical activities of daily living. The rehabilitation hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients. Position Information
