Audio Visual Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY The Department of Student Union and Event Services is seeking a full-time Audio Visual Production Supervisor. Under the direction of the Audio Visual and Technology Services Manager, the Audio Visual Production Supervisor provides professional AV support for key institutional events, oversees technical operations for event production, trains and develops student technical staff, and maintains AV systems and services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high standards of technical support and maintaining the university?s reputation for professional, reliable services. Success will be measured by event outcomes, reduced disruptions, and improved student staff competency. The role also includes developing and implementing structured training programs to accelerate student learning and reduce performance gaps. The Audio Visual Production Supervisor will be hired at either the Audio Visual Specialist [P3] classification or the Audio Visual Technician 1 [P4] classification, depending on the incumbent's experience, skills, abilities, and training as determined by the University. The Audio Visual Specialist is an early to mid - career professional working under more direct supervision, focusing on routine AV installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical projects. In contrast, the Audio Visual Technician 1 performs similar duties with greater independence, tackles more complex technical challenges, evaluates technology solutions, and leads more advanced projects. APPOINTMENT TERMS This appointment requires occasional irregular hours, including nights and weekends and the ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The anticipated salary ranges are as follows: $70,000 to $75,000 for Audio Visual Specialist classification or $79,000 to $84,000 for Audio Visual Technician 1 classification.
